For this project, we got to choose our groups and were randomly assigned music genres from which we got 4 options of songs we could pick from. Fortunately, my group got Pop and we chose the song She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5 which we renamed it to be For Her by our fictional artist Daniel Soul. Daniel Soul was born in Dagestan, Russia, in 2001 and migrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the age of 5 to get away from his abusive father.
We started planning production by illustrating a storyboard to help us map out what we needed to shoot. We then decided that the music video would be about Daniel Soul and his most recent breakup in which his ex left him for another man. The entire music video was shot in a park and consisted of many shots of Daniel Soul singing and his ex with another person.

The research we did really helped us understand how small artist can gain traction to help them grow their career. One way is to be featured in a song or make covers for other artists that have popular songs. Our persona will be playing in many local bars, restaurants, and community centers and will advertise this on his social media platforms, he will also post other content on his social media, like dances to his songs on TikTok, behind-the-scenes teasers on Instagram, and videos of him on youtube. This is how we started our Music marketing project.
